How much of the space around you can you feel?

Where does your attention go when you play or sing?

Much of what we pay attention to is in front of us. That’s true when we’re making music too: the music, the conductor, the audience. How do we create a presence that can “fill the space”? What if that started with being able to sense space in other directions?

We know in theory that we’re three-dimensional, but how much of that can you feel right now? Close your eyes, and feel. Can you feel not only your front, but your sides and your back? Notice if there are blank spaces in your self-image that feel cloudy, or that you speed past.
