I’m a little in denial about the end of summer. The weather has been glorious, I do love not having to take a cardigan with me. But time moves on, and here we are edging into Autumn.
With the school year, September always feels like a new beginning. And of course, it’s also Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, at the end of this week. So for some of us, another reset for the year.
The time before Rosh Hashanah, which translates as “the head of the year”, is a time for contemplation: how the old year went, and how you might like the new one to be different. Self-improvement written in!
I wonder what Feldenkrais thought about before his new years, if he did. I hope he’d be pleased that his Method is outliving him.
Feldenkrais lessons offer their own kind of reset: a chance to notice the habits we’ve accumulated and explore what we might do differently.
