Feldenkrais in Practice

Play and Sing Without Fighting Your Body!

A free 4-week programme for musicians who want to reduce tension, increase body awareness, and rediscover ease in their playing or singing.

  • Are you a professional musician whose pain is stopping you from playing as freely as you used to?
  • Perhaps you’re a music student building habits now that will serve your entire career?
  • Or maybe you’re just curious to see how easily you could improve your sense of self and your ease of playing?

If tension, pain, or physical limitation is affecting your music making, this programme is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE:

Over 4 weeks of daily Feldenkrais lessons, you’ll discover:

✓ Decreased tension: Feel your body soften and release unnecessary effort
✓ Increased body awareness: Experience yourself as a whole system instead of fragmented parts
✓ Pain reduction: Notice discomfort ease as you move with more intelligence
✓ Greater ease in playing: Rediscover the freedom you thought you’d lost

WHAT PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS SAID (Professional Musicians):

“After just a few weeks, I’ve already noticed a marked decrease in overall tension. My postural lordosis is much less evident, as is the discomfort, which used to worsen after playing. I’ve also become more aware of my breathing and started to notice when I tense my shoulders on passages that worry me.”

“I was surprised how effective a lesson of just 10 minutes was in changing my sensation and emotional state!”

“I wished to have a better sense of my body, especially when playing my instrument, and this course has exceeded my expectations.”

“If I do a few minutes of Feldenkrais before I practise, this really opens up my awareness and I am slowly releasing areas of tension and finding more useful ways where more of my body is involved.”

HOW IT WORKS:

Daily Live Lessons (Monday-Friday)
Join me live each weekday for 10-20 minute Feldenkrais lessons designed specifically for musicians.

Can’t make it live? No problem. All lessons will be recorded and posted in our private Facebook group.

Your time commitment: 10-15 minutes per day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks.

Starts: January 5th, 2026
Registration closes: January 3rd, 2026

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You experience tension or pain when you practice or perform
  • You worry about how your body will hold up as you age
  • You’ve tried “fixing your posture” but nothing seems to stick
  • You want to feel more connected to your body when you play
  • You’re ready to invest 10-20 minutes a day for 4 weeks

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF:

X You’re not open to exploring movement in a new way

X You’re not willing to fill out questionnaires at the start and end (this is a research-based programme)

X You can’t commit to 10-20 minutes most days

X You’re looking for a quick fix or magic solution

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

✓ 20 live Feldenkrais lessons (Monday-Friday for 4 weeks)
✓ All lesson recordings in a private Facebook group
✓ Access to a community of musicians on the same journey
✓ Pre and post-program questionnaires to track your progress
✓ 100% FREE – Your “payment” is your time and honest feedback for my research

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER?

At the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Continue with weekly group classes
  • Work with me 1-on-1
  • Attend workshops
  • Or simply take what you’ve learned and run with it

No pressure. No pitch. Just an invitation if you want to go deeper.

WHY FELDENKRAIS?

Unlike traditional approaches that tell you to “fix your posture” or “relax your shoulders,” Feldenkrais teaches your nervous system to find ease through gentle, exploratory movement.

You’re not forcing change. You’re discovering it.

FAQ:

Q: Do I need any special equipment?
A: No. Just comfortable clothing and a space where you can lie down.

Q: What if I miss a live lesson?
A: All lessons are recorded and posted in the Facebook group. Do them on your own time.

Q: I’ve never done Feldenkrais before. Is that okay?
A: Absolutely. This program is designed for beginners.

Q: Do I have to be on Facebook?
A: Yes – if you want access to the recordings. The sessions are live on Zoom, and streamed from there. The private Facebook group is where recordings and community interaction happen.

Q: What instruments is this for?
A: All instruments, including voice. The principles apply to any musician.

Q: Is this really free?
A: Yes. Your “payment” is filling out questionnaires at the start and end so I can complete my research.

Q: What if I can’t commit to every single day?
A: Do what you can. Catch up at weekends. But the more you show up, the more you’ll experience.

HERE’S WHAT PAST PARTICIPANTS DISCOVERED:

Pain & Tension:

  • “The Feldenkrais practice has given me a deeper understanding of the pain and what can be done to remove it. Though the pain is improved but not removed entirely, this is still an improvement I’m happy to count as a win!”
  • “I found the 1st week sessions really helpful in decreasing tension in my lower back. I actually went back to those videos a couple of times.”
  • “When dropping my knees to the left, I found this unlocked something in my right shoulder. There are now more ‘good’ days than ‘bad’ days for my neck issues.”

Body Awareness:

  • “I am a lot more aware of my body and how it is behaving and where and when I am gripping.”
  • “I’ve been made aware of things I’d never really thought about before, such as how a movement triggers off other movements, how it’s all connected.”
  • “My shoulder muscles and neck are less tense because of a better awareness of the shoulder blade, rib cage etc.”

On Playing :

  • “Tongue relaxation! Am noticing how that affects everything – my breathing – jaw clenching isn’t possible if I’m feeling soft. More comfortable playing.”
  • “I now have multiple ways of relaxing tense areas before I start and also in the middle of playing.”
  • “Doing the lessons has contributed to a greater understanding of connection between different parts of the body. I also feel more aware that greater elasticity is possible and can be sought when playing.”
